Restoration

Barn conversions have a unique beauty to them and one that we believe should be preserved. From large scale farm buildings originally used in agriculture through to smaller buildings with that barn-inspired touch, we ensure the end result is everything you’ve ever dreamt of. Over the years, we have acquired a large list of contacts within the industry and, specifically, those who bring a unique passion to these sorts of projects. In doing so, we’re able to deliver high-quality materials and modern building techniques that produce exquisitely unique homes too.

One of the most attractive things about barn restorations is how these buildings can be used in a multitude of different ways. Some are transformed into luxury offices for businesses seeking a unique space to host guests and employees. Others are much-sought-after residential plots that provide ample opportunity to personalise a unique space and bring back to life a snippet of history. Our team of highly experienced and skilled tradesmen will help to bring your specific vision to life. We recognise the importance of preserving original materials and sourcing new solutions that are in keeping with Building Regulations and your desired aesthetic. Whether you’re working with a Class Q conversion or simply transforming an older building into something beautiful, you have an opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind and much-loved property with the right support.

Many barns here in the UK were originally built using locally sourced and area-specific materials. While originally, this was a means to reduce travel costs, it also gives each of these agricultural buildings its own unique style. We work with you to incorporate vernacular building techniques into your barn conversion alongside modern technology to blur the lines between traditional and contemporary. Our team can also help you with barn conversion extensions, bringing more space to your pre-existing barn and allowing it to be used exactly how you always pictured.

With 10+ years of experience in the industry, a team of highly skilled tradesmen and our highly personalised project-based service, Carhart Construction are the team to trust with your barn conversion in Cornwall.
